Being busy does not mean being productive. You can be busy and get nothing done. Something needs to change. Distractions are keeping me from actually getting my work done.
Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson at Basecamp got it right, the best way to slice up 4 hours of work is 4 hours. Splicing it up into 2 hour chunks is not optimal.
From now on, I work in a library.
I don’t actually work in a physical library, but I am making work hours into library hours. No distractions, no calls, no notifications, etc.
